The quality of food at checks is usually consistently good.
It's the lack of attention paid to the order that is frustrating.
Ordered two full dinners, and a piece of pie. They sent me a fish sandwich, but no tarter sauce. I asked specifically for extra tarter sauce, because the plate had two pieces of fish. They sent none. The thin piece of fish was fried so dry that the edge all the way around was like a piece of string, and one end was inedible.
Had to find a recipe and make my own tarter sauce here, before we ate.
Fries were perfect.
The chicken liver dinner was sent with a container of gravy, but no mashed potatoes. I had to make mashed potatoes, before we ate.
They also FORGOT the pie!
There's no excuse for this. This order was not checked for accuracy, and I got ripped off.
I understand Checks does a lot of business and is a busy place, but, the inconsistency, and inconvenience makes me realize it wasn't worth the hassle to order delivery.
This order was sent after 2p, so the lunch crush should have died down.
The chicken livers were absolutely perfect, but everything had to be reheated because I had to COOK part of the meal!!

Normally one of my favorite places to eat,
but last nights food was inedible. Tasted like it was fried in very old and nasty oil. We were extremely disappointed
