I'm in love with this place. It reminds me of mom's cooking! I had 2 Fried Pork Chop Combo! the sides that I had were yams and dressing. the pork chops were excellent. the yams were so so good, I enjoyed the dressing. I almost forgot I had peach cobbler for dessert and I wish I had ordered 2. I would definitely order that meal again. the next time I have to try something else.

The Cajun spiced chicken and creamy butter spinach were absolutely incredible. The chicken was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of Cajun seasoning in every bite. The creamy butter spinach was rich, savory, and the perfect complement to the meal. The Mac n cheese and dirty rice sides were gone in minutes.
What stood out most was the consistency—every bite was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. If you’re looking for soul food done right, this is the spot.

I have been looking for soul food everywhere in San Diego. Still never gave it a try until today. Decided to treat myself to a birthday treat and came across this page and some great reviews. I ordered the smothered pork Smothered pork chop with my special gravy comes with 2 sides . EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. it's not even an exaggeration. The greens are delectable, the Mac and cheese is so cheesy and flavorful, and the pork chops ARE SO GOOD. The tea is perfectly balanced with tea and lemonade. Will definitely order again.

Real SOUL FOOD is rare in San Diego. Fried pork chop combo pure fire... im sucking on the bone as i type this lol. Mac n cheese top tier, greens were good, yams oh my! Look no further people.

This is SOUL FOOD. You can taste the love in every bite as the layers of flavors give your taste buds a kiss. The Mac & Cheese is sooo comforting and the real cheese flavor HITS good. And I probably could eat a tray of Candied Yams by myself! They're not too sweet in the best kind of way. Garlic Mashed Potatoes mean GARLIC, and the gravy is peppery in a great way that's not overwhelming. Popeye's potatoes cry themselves to sleep idolizing mash like this.
So if it sounds good and you're considering ordering from here, DO IT. Can't recommend this food enough! <3
