Court Street Bagels has fallen a long way from grace since the hostile takeover by Smith Street Bagels in 2024. These are now sad bland bagels and sandwiches at a ripoff price. I've been going here for two decades during the glory days under Peter. I've tried bagels under the new ownership a couple times and it has continually missed the mark yet now at a 50% higher price. Save your money and either order better bagels from an adjacent neighborhood or go to a restaurant because there's no way you should waste $30 (before fees) on two mediocre bagel sandwiches or $30 on the Half Dozen Bagel Special with half lb of Scallion cream cheese.
Beyond the bagel itself falling from top tier bagels to just average, the Meat & Cheese on my breakfast sandwich was ice cold indicating that orders are no longer made fresh to order. Lox Deluxe Bagel was below average lox at $5 more expensive than better bagel shops. I also ordered a Half Dozen Bagel Special and half were not the ones I ordered. Bagel shops typically call back to see what bagels you want to substitute if something runs out but Smith Street Bagels now running Court Street Bagels doesn't care and will throw in random bagels.

We didn't get one of our drinks. The rest of it was good. We love this place. The 1/4 lb is good for one bagel so the portions are great. Very fresh.

Store didn't send orange juice or rainbow bagels (that's half the order) and when I called they said they couldn't refund and I would have to reorder and incur new delivery fees or come to the store.
