For what I'm paying for I wasn't expecting 3 tiny baby back ribs with a sour bbq glaze or 4 tiny lemon pepper wings.
The cornbread was a massive portion with 5 pieces given to me but it was extremely dense and dry. Also don't understand the 4 slices of plain white bread in addition but that was also a lot compared to what I got as the mains.
The yams were delicious and perfect.

I got the 3 Meat, 3 Sides Platter Combo because it was bogo. I requested all items to be separate due to photos in reviews where items had spilled over. The restaurant followed the instructions. Portions were big and hearty. The freshness was varied but to be fair I ordered late at night. So maybe it would have been fresher earlier.
Food reviews:
Fried Okra- softer than I prefer but the batter and flavor were good it just needed to be fried a bit longer.
Potato salad- super runny but good flavor. Typical potato texture but would have been better if was thick and not runny.
Baked Beans- also extremely runny and the flavor profile was terrible. It tasted more like pinto beans cooked in a ham bone.
Macaroni- other reviews said flavorless but I disagree. There was quite a bit of flavor to it but again it was runny. Almost like noodles in queso.
Corn on the Cob- this tasted maybe like it was grilled flavor was alright but it just tasted like corn not buttery or seasoned but was obviously frozen
Chopped brisket- large portion but I can see where the other reviews compared it to beef jerky. Not in texture or dryness but flavor profile. It wasn't especially soft or greasy.
Pulled pork- this was more like chopped pork than pulled. Not the traditional pulled apart style like a cheese stick but chunks of meat. Flavor was ok but not what you'd expect.
Riblets- these were the best meat hands down. Prepared correctly with good flavor and the perfect char.
Bbq Sauce- we got hot honey on all of our meat as the sauce. It tasted more like just honey bbq. The sauce was a super small portion and poured on top of the meat. I would recommend the restaurant send the sauce in portioned cups rather than on the meat.

Do not get the sliced brisket it is maybe 2 mm thick. They only give you two pieces of that thin meat and dry. The pulled pork has good flavor, but they want to charge extra for a barbecue sauce even when they do not put enough on. The mac & cheese was freezing cold when I got it and does not taste very good. It taste as if it were a day old. This restaurant is located inside of a Mexican restaurant. I'm assuming it is a ghost kitchen. However, they make the food in the same place as they make the storefront Mexican restaurant food. That may be why the flavors are off and does not resemble soul food as they describe. I would not order this again.

Chicken was okay and well sauced. The chopped brisket was dry and overcooked. Rib tips were undercooked and saturated with oil. Yams were watery and tasted like cinnamon. I couldn't eat them, and I like cinnamon. The fries were dry. The tea had no taste. For a total over $60.00 I do NOT recommend.

Not worth it at all I got the 2 Meat, 2 Sides Platter Combo the rib tips were terrible and the hot link was small cut up the mac & cheese was spicy and not in a good way plus the potato salad wasn't cold .
