It all started with a dream. And in this dream, god visited John "Big Daddy" bishop and told him to open a restaurant. Bishop mandated the original dreamland in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1958. initially…
Dry meats, smaller portions than most places. My son loves peach cobbler and her threw it away. Banana pudding got thumbs up from my youngest, but most of the rest of the food wasn't finished by anyone. Perhaps it was the day or the shift but unfortunately it wasn't anything we'd order again--especially at the price point.

The food was not good. The only thing I liked was the tea. They said the Small Family Meal was suppose to feed 6-7 people and it only feed two. The portions were not big and the chicken was dry. Please do t eat here. It's not worth the money.

The order was delayed by another 30 minutes because they got busy in the back. That must be why the rib tips were tougher than Chinese arithmetic. Ther were burned in some places. Normally, the rib tips are very tender. So disappointed on my birthday.

Well that was disappointing! The pulled pork sandwich was overcooked, burnt and the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. The ribs were burned and the outer part was inedible. If we were in the restaurant both would of been returned!!
The baked beans were fine - better than most. And the famous poor man's appetizer (bread and bbq sauce) was delicious!! Sadly it was the best part of the meal!

BBQ sauce was awful - mustard and very vinagary tasting. Ribs were just ok. Mac and cheese was bland. Coleslaw was delicious. Banana pudding just ok. Overall, very disappointed as I have heard so much about this place.
