The Rare Roast Beef sandwich had less meat in it than usual, thank goodness. Easier to handle and eat. So fresh. The potato salad is always excellent. The fruit salad was really good and a bigger size than other places.

We have been eating DZ Akin's food for 40+ yrs and they always deliver excellent flavors. The salads are very large and so are the sandwiches (we get two meals from each). This is the best Deli in all of San Diego!

The food is quite literally fantastic. The amount of food you get & for the price you pay is well worth it. Not to mention that the quality of the food itself is top-notch. They're definitely not putting a ton of additives, chemicals, or junk into the food like you get everywhere else. Its fresh & simple ingredients. I order from here all the time now, & I highly recommend that you try it. I get the 78. Rare Roast Beef Sandwich pretty often, but all of their sandwiches and dinner plates are great. Even their bakery items are top-notch as well, and great sizes for the price. I enjoy getting a Cupcake once a week from here as a treat. I got the eclair one time and for 8.95 I was questioning why it was that much money, but when it arrived it was the size of a cake lol; totally worth the money! Im very careful about what I eat these days and watching how it effects my blood sugar & how I feel overall after my meal, & I can tell you for a fact that this place offers very clean food! A++

Seriously the best new place I go to for sandwiches now bc of the quality and portion but this last time I got the Roasted Breast of Turkey and omg it was like Thanksgiving all over again. Truly amazing food, amazing desserts and comfort meals. I am now a regular and proud to say so! My daughter is obsessed with their various baked rolls so entire family loves this place!

Liverwurst sandwich was excellent as always. Loaded with meat and made just the way I asked. Brownie was very good. Always a perfect bite when you need something sweet and lasts for several servings.  The Ding Dong was supposed to be German Chocolate, but was their regular Ding Dong. Still very good, but not what I had anticipated. Very moist and chocolaty.
