Its old skool Mexica American. The place is pitch black with twinkly lights. The margaritas flaming are very good. Two is almost too much. I always get the Enchiladas Suiza style, cheese with green sauce combo. My husband likes the ceviche.. nice portion and super fresh. The crunchy tacos are super crunchy and the beef is tender. Dont start on the chips and salsa... they can end up being dinner. Theservice is not always around but who cares. We're always having a good time no matter what. Never want to leave... but full and need a siesta.

My Enchilada Rancheras was perfectly flavored. Reminded me of my Grandmothers Enchiladas!!!! And my Favorite Nachos around. Great flavor and a large portion that really fills you up !! If you're a fan of Mexican Food this is the Best choice around!!! Cheers !

The Al Pastor Taco does not come with any of the toppings as advertised. There is no lettuce, cheese, guacamole, or mild salsa. It only comes with cilantro, onion, and a spicy salsa - definitely not worth $7.50. The Enchiladas Rancheras now only comes with one enchilada instead of two and the cheese isn't even melted; there is also no sour cream as advertised. The refried beans are tasty as well as the chips and salsa, but I don't think I will be ordering here again unfortunately.

Shrimp Quesadilla has gone way down in quality. The Shrimp are super small and just don't taste like good quality shrimp. The other items we ordered 10. 1 Enchilada Ranchera & 1 Chile Relleno were fantastic

El Compadre is # 1 Mexican Californian restaurant in my opinion. I always get enchiladas verdes, and a Margarita. They are à notch above El Coyote.
