Ordered off door dash. 1st time. Been looking for a go to Mexican spot in the area for what seems like way too long now. I think this may be the one. As long as they are consistent. 1st this is the 1st one, when ordering thru a delivery app, that ive tried using the special preferences section to type out a request to customize an item and it allowed me to do so. The food showed up exactly how I wanted and tasted delicious. Definitely going to order from here next time we get Mexican food.

OK, so upon first impressions just looking at the plates, I was impressed and excited. However, I started with the taco plate and I was disappointed to find that my tacos were both on really thin corn tortilla. I had ordered a Carne Asada taco and a shredded beef taco so I thought the shredded beef would be a hardshell taco, but it wasn't even though it wasn't that ended up being my favorite part of the meal. It was really good but it should've come with two tortillas as they loaded up and it was spilling everywhere now the Carne Asada taco I was disappointed with because it was just Carne Asada with a few onions and cilantro no avocado or guac at all. They did include limes in radishes, which was nice. The beans were good. The rice was not edible. It tasted like plastic chemicals. And I thought maybe they put it in the to go Tupperware too quick with it being hot but the beans did not taste like that so something is definitely wrong with the rice. I ordered chips and salsa because I saw a lot of reviews talking about how good it was and I was disappointed it taste like a very generic store-bought green salsa with a few diced up tomatoes in it. I'm from San Diego so I've eaten really good Mexican food before and that's probably some of the worst salsa I've ever had. The chips were stale, so unfortunately, that was a bust overall. Now I was really excited for the tortilla soup because I love Mexican soup but the smell is really throwing me off. It smells really strong of a pork or beef broth even though it's a chicken tortilla soup and normally I wouldn't mind that because I prefer beef products, however I can be sensitive to smells and this is just really meaty and honestly grossing me out. I tasted it to see if tasting it would overpower the smell, and it would be amazing based off of the reviews however, it just taste like a basic tortilla soup and it's really oily the soup has a ton of dark meat so if you're not favoring of dark meat, I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, the portion sizes were good. The freshness was good besides the salsa, but I don't know that I will order again. It was pricey and not worth ordering from when I know there's a better taco shop nearby. This is my first experience eating at this restaurant. So maybe I just had a bad experience, but I expected more. Wanted to give a very detailed review because I see a lot of reviews raving about this place and wanted to make sure you guys understood my experience. The presentation looks amazing, but the overall taste was not there.

The Burrito de Carnitas / Pork Burrito was sooo delicious! Also you have to try the Tostada de Ceviche! The BEST! So fresh and delicious! Also I tried the Chips & Salsa for the first time today- I will be ordering regularly!! DEEEELICIOUS!! I could drink it! Thank you again El Unico!

The Tostada de Ceviche is amazing!! The Burrito de Carnitas / Pork Burrito is sooo delicious! And the 3 Especial de Tacos / Tacos Special is so good and such a great value!

The Tostada de Ceviche is my favorite along with the Chips & Salsa! So fresh and FULL of flavor! 1st time trying the Platillo de 2 Enchiladas / 2 Enchiladas Plate and I'd did not disappoint! Excellent food! Thank you!!
