The Veggie Special was really good. Excellent flavor, not salty. The injera tasted great, not sour. Good portion size. Better Ethiopian food that I've had in Tampa, Minneapolis or DC. Highly recommend! They did not include any napkins or anything, but otherwise, excellent.

The Veggie Special and Awaze Beef Tibs were, and I'm not exaggerating, maybe the best meal I've had in my last 2 years in Atlanta. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, generously portioned. The lady who handed me my order was also very sweet. Worth every penny I will be returning, often.

Embilta Cafe & Restaurant is a neighborhood gem featuring Ethiopian cuisine. It is tucked away in a nondescript shopping center on Cheshire Bridge Road between Lenox Rd. and Liddell Dr. that houses the Blue Rat Smoke Shop and is MARTA-accessible via bus 6.
With my husband away at a meeting on Juneteenth, I had a hankering for African cuisine, and I have been meaning to try Embilta for years. I ordered via DoorDash for carry-out Chicken Tibs, sauteed, bite-sized pieces of chicken with onions, garlic, tomatoes, and jalapeños; Kikil, tender, braised lamb with garlic; and a Sambusa, a triangular-shaped pastry filled with lentils, onions, and jalapeños.
The cafe is modest in size and furnishings, but it felt like I was walking into my grandmother’s kitchen. I was greeted warmly by the owner, the mouthwatering fragrance of authentic cooking, and Ethiopian music playing in the background. I knew that the food would be delicious as soon as I walked past the first table.
The tibs and kikil were served with the best injera I have experienced—it was so light and cushiony and was the perfect vessel for the chicken and lamb (although I also enjoyed the injera by itself). I thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful tibs, served with delicious chickpeas. My sambusa was crispy and savory, and I wish I had ordered another (note: they are on the greasy side).
I am already planning on tackling the Veggie Special for my visit, a smorgasbord of split lentils, yellow peas, greens, cabbage, and chickpeas. I highly recommend Embilta Cafe & Restaurant for your next DoorDash!

From the portions to the amazing taste...The Veggie Special met every expectation! The cabbage was my favorite...so flavorful. The quality and care put into this meal. I would order again and again! Thank you!!!!!!!

In my Top 3 Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta.....on any given day it is number 1!!! The salad is very unique and delicious everything is delicious!!
