Fort St George restaurant, a long-time favorite of locals and visitors alike, has merged with its neighbor, Maekawa Bar. The new Fort St George is now a one restaurant with dishes from both menus, rat…
Japanese husband approved. Very surprised to get renkon in my tempura. I think it is a first for me in US. I figured with the combination of dishes it had to be pretty authentic. Sad that the online menu didnt seem to have as many choices as in person but definitely will try again.

FSG has been one of my favorite spots in Seattle for nearly 20 years. If you like Japanese Beef Curry, and I do, theirs is the best i've found. There are others, more fast-food-y, FSG is the real deal! Also try the spaghetti (all versions) doria, fried oysters, etc. Always good!
Also a great place for a stif drink or draft beer when in the ID.

Beef Curry doesn't have any beef at all, it's just a plain curry with rice for fifteen dollars. Fried Chicken lacked seasoning. Pineapple juice is a mini airplane can of dole for five dollars. This was a bad value all around.

i just want to say that if you are looking for a hamburg steak, this is not it. i thought, "ooh, a japanese restaurant, and it says 'hamburger steak!' finally, i can have hamburg steak in the US!" it's not hamburg steak. it's like a very big hamburger patty. this dish tasted fine (except there was a lot of butter taste?), and there was a LOOOT of it, but it's not what i was looking for, and i don't think it's worth $20 either

The Beef Curry is extremely misleading. The photo makes it look like you get some beef patty, but it's just curry with some pieces of beef in it. The Potato Croquette is also overpriced for how little you get.
