Everytime I have ordered from here everything has been top notch! The Chicken Fried Rice is delicious, and I had the Ribs for the 1st time and they were so good. This is def my go to spot for Chinese food!!!

I wish I liked the food a little more but the price is really good for the amount I got. The portion is great. There is definitely some weird flavor profile to the chicken and broccoli like minty. I would definitely try this place out again just due to the portion in the price. & their customer service is great.

I wish there was a kind of okay option. I think I had really high hopes because of the history behind this eatery. Back in the 80's, near the IBM Campus (now - The Domain), was a little known diamond called China Gate. The authentic and amazing Chef, named Lim, and his beautiful wife, Esther, were the working owners. Everything that Lim ever made was was beautifully plated and melt in your mouth delicious. They also hosted an incredible Chinese New Year celebration.
As years passed, they incorporated their children to help run the business, but eventually closed shop and relocated as The Great Wall on FM 685 in Pflugerville in the early 2000's.
Lim and Esther were still working their magic with dishes and service.. but somewhere along the way.. I believe the business was either turned over to the kids or sold.. then relocated to its current location in Round Rock as The Great Wall Express. Since then, nothing has been the same.
It's not terrible.. but it's definitely not the working of Lim & Esther. I don't know where they are now but I wish they knew how our family were great fans and faithful patrons when they were involved.
Best of luck to The Great Wall Express, but you have so much work to do to live up to the legacy of Lim & Ester.
Today's order of Orange Chicken was really dry & tough and the broccoli was limp. Both the bowl of LoMein and the Combination LoMein was bland, but the broccoli in the combination was crisp and perfectly cooked.. I'm not sure what it was.. but the sauce had some flavor that reminded us of licorice a. The Shrimp Toast was over cooked, almost burnt. The eggrolls were okay. The Hot & Sour soup was well flavored and a silky texture.

First time ordering. They are one of few places that offer Vegetable Egg Foo Young so I had to try it. It was pretty good, the flavor and texture along with the brown gravy was nice. Looking forward to trying more from the menu.
