Gus chicken is the best it's a little spicy but it's juicy at the same time and when I say I love the macaroni and cheese in the collard greens but I must say this you need to try the fried tomatoes and the fried rice both are totally delicious and don't leave out the chess pie when I say they know how to make a southern chess pie you better believe it because everybody can't get this recipe down right but Gus they got it all the way together if I can give them 20 Stars I would and I always recommend them to others

This place has become my "go to" when I really want some good chicken. I love the 8 Piece Snack as it allows me to choose the parts I want. It lasts me two meals, so its good and economic, at least for prices right now as of this review. The chicken is spicy but not Nashville hot. is a very good blend of spices with just a good amount of heat. those of you who love putting hot sauce on your chicken may not need to put it on this one, unless that's really what you love to do. The chicken is cooked well and it's quite moist. since I've had the chicken in the past, I can already tell you about the sides. The mac and cheese is very good and very flavorful. but it is a basic recipe. The greens are the mixed greens, and often times it's a little bitter. I grew up in Memphis and I know this taste, but this tastes a little bit more bitter than what I'm used to. The other sides are bland. But overall this is a great chicken place!

Tried Gus's for the first time and OMG, I can't say enough great things about the food! The fried chicken lives up to its "world famous" name. It is perfectly cooked and SO crispy and delicious! The greens and okra are outta this world. Cole slaw might be the best I've ever had. Forget the colonel! This is our new go-to place for fried chicken!

So good. I will become a regular here. The chicken is super crisp, comes out hot and has a wonderfully spicy flavor. Love it! Had Mac and cheese as a side and loved that. It's how I like it. Only thing I did love were the collards. I like my collards leafy, they do them ground up here.
Another notable element was the service. They were proactively checking in with me to make sure I was taken care of.

one of the best places in town to get classic fried chicken. compared to Popeyes or KFC, Gus takes the cake. 3 Piece White Plate and two side for $15?! i keep coming back for a reason
