This was my first time trying soul food and man it did not disappoint. The shrimp was some of the best I've ever had. It was crispy and so flavorful.
The macaroni n cheese & yams were delicious. They do not skimp on portions! I was so full after! Sweet tea was just the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely be ordering again.

I usually order the chicken plate, which is delicious! This time I ordered the chicken and catfish plate with coleslaw and brown sugar yams, YUM! It was very delicious! I even put some in the fridge for tomorrow or later, as the portions are huge. Hats off to HONEY J's! I very seldom order from anyone else! Their food is always FRESH and cooked Perfectly!!

ive ordered here several times I always get the half Half Bird Plate with greens and macaroni and cheese the chicken is always super crispy well seasoned and juicy the macaroni and cheese tastes like someone's grandma made it absolutely delightful and the greens are fantastic too if you want real southern soul food this is the only place you should get it in Lexington

This definitely did not disappoint, catfish crispy, well seasoned and still piping hot when it arrived. Greens served in a small cup to prevent getting the rest of my food wet, mac and cheese rich and creamy and cheesy. Amazing. Make sure to request hot sauce or any other condiments you might want. I forgot but thankfully I got some at my hotel, made the fish and greens perfect. I would absolutely order from Honey J's again

Honey J's is the best soul food in Lex. Hands down. The pork chops are my favorite, but Ive never gotten anything that was not amazing. And the portion for the price is crazy. I almost always have leftovers for the next day.
