I ordered the Mongolian beef but think I got the bee broccoli? I don't know. Maybe they have a different recipe here than I'm used to. Any case the ingredients and flavors were good. Hot & sour soup arrived steaming hot and was super tasty once it cooled down.

the kung pao chicken is excellent!
the shrimp chow mein is a little too bland, but the portion is generous. Both are reasonably priced.

The food is pretty good, not truly outstanding. The delivery portions are fair and likewise the prices. I've eaten at the restaurant a few times over the years, but I've had food delivered lately more often. The menu is kind of limited, but then I don't eat pork and most seafood. I give Hunan Cafe four stars - I'm expansive tonight while I await the delivery of hot and sour soup and chicken chow mein.

I usually enjoy what I order from Hunan Cafe. I liked the egg drop soup to which I added fresh peas which I bought this morning at the WeHo Farmers Market. Very good. The General Tao's chicken was okay. I've had better and I've had worse.
The Hunan fried rice is a no great shakes kind of dish. I don't see the point of it. I wouldn't order it again.

The General Tso's chicken was overly sweet and it looked like they had taken chicken that had already been cooked and breaded it and cooked it again so it was really overdone! I don't understand how people give it a 100% like rating. I thought it was terrible!
The Kung Pao Chicken was good as usual, So I gave the restaurant three stars, but all three stars are for the Kung Pao chicken, and there are no stars for the general Taos Chicken. It was terrible!
