I usually do not write bad reviews when it comes to food and restaurants unless I have received non veg item instead of a veg item and that too if the restaurant is not replacing food.
However I am forced to write my review for two items so that other vegetarians do not order these items.
I ordered Karvepaku Gobi biryani on Dec 8 and Gobi 65 biryani on Dec 31.
What I expected was basic biryani with atleast potatoes if not potatoes, beans and carrots because that is what veg biryani is. Instead I received plain white and orange coloured basmati rice. That’s still okay. Now how is the gobhi made. You would think karvekapaku gobhi means deep fried or air fried crunchy gobhi in karvepaku masala. No instead on top of rice were boiled cauliflowers that were dipped in some karvepaku paste and not even well marinated. They were not deep or pan or air fried at all. They were boiled pieces put on top of rice. Wet cauliflower pieces in lots of spicy gravy which was masala and oil mixed in water. No tomato and onion based gravy either.
I should have learnt my lesson the first time. I ordered gobhi 65 biryani thinking nobody can get gobi 65 wrong as it is a popular starter. I got the same plain rice and boiled cauliflower dipped in some red paste. Wet biryani with lots of paste on top and extra paste in a container.
I strongly recommend the chef and the owners to try out gobi 65 in other restaurants to understand how it is made and for karvepaku gobi, taste it at Bawarchi to understand how it tastes. These are supposed to be crispy dry starters on top of biryani and not boiled cauliflowers just dipped in masala mixed in water and oil and placed on top of rice that too just plain rice.
I have learnt my lesson to not order anything. Lastly, as a Hyderbadi you will laugh when you will open the container to see what you get. This is not biryani.
I should have read other reviews before ordering.

The biryani was not great. It seemed like the rice and chicken were simply boiled in salt water.
3 stars for quantity, which was enough for two.

standards have dropped drastically.
less quantity, increased prices , 2 obscure chicken pieces per biriyani. Not worth it.

Portion sizes are ridiculously small, i.e. the chicken piece in the single plate of biryani.
What was a good restaurant is getting greedy, will lose customers.
