This location used to be a Hot Dog on a Stick. I was back in town and noticed it had changed, so I decided to see what it was about. Honestly, I don’t understand the name, but that was the least of my concerns.
As soon as I walked up to the menu, there were two women behind the counter, and a man came out from the back. For context, I am Indian and speak Hindi and Punjabi fluently (I understand everything they were arguing about), though I don’t necessarily look like either. Immediately, the two women started talking to each other, practically arguing about who would have to help me. Eventually, one did, but her tone was rude and dismissive. She asked me, “You wanting what?!” in broken English, with clear disgust in her voice. It gave me total hole-in-the-wall gas station vibes. The man stepped in to try and translate her words, repeating, “What WANT?”
I ordered a hot dog and fries, and it was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve had. The hot dog was cold, tasteless, and had this strange stale potato chip flavor. We couldn’t even finish it. The fries weren’t fresh either—she had clearly thrown old, stale fries under a new batch she made when I ordered. Every other fry was cold and stale.
This place looks run down, felt unwelcoming, and it was completely empty—which makes sense now. There’s a reason people aren’t eating here. I usually like to give mom-and-pop shops a fair chance, and I still will elsewhere, but this was a terrible experience all around.
