I've been in the hospital for 45 days. I got permission for a cheat meal. My girlfriend drove from Topeka so we could have this very unromantic, but very practical date with KC's best BBQ. Everything was great. Except I got a wing and a breast when I requested dark meat. It was sooooo good! The breast was tender enough it could compete with other restaurants thighs! Great meal, thank you!!!

Got the "dinner" sized portion of the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese Dinner
Pulled pork was entirely flavorless, Mac and cheese was dry and the little cheese sauce there was tasted bland, and on top of that, the portion size was genuinely embarassing.
Ive had the same meal in restaurant and it was much better, with a non-child sized portion.
As a KC native, this is my only negative Jack Stack experience ever.

absolutely pathetic. largest part of my order was the potato, which was covered in rock salt. waaaay too much salt. 1Tsp sour cream, 1Tsp chive (literally one chive) ½ Tsp bacon bits (maybe half of one strip diced up) and 1 Tbsp of shredded cheddar. ordered ½lb brisket and ½ smoked sausage. received ½lb TOTAL of both. received enough sauce to drown my truck in. the "smoked sausage" was basically a 3" sausage link that had been cut into thin long slices (dumb). it tasted like deer sausage and was salty as hell, so it either was not done, or was not pork. very "gamey" taste, and not in a good way. the brisket tasted like it was cooked in an over and then put on a smoker for about 10 minutes. $40 down the drain. the worst part is, I asked the locals where the best bbq in Kansas was and was referred to this place, or Q39.I've had better BBQ at Buccees and they're not even a restaurant. Will try Q39 next, but so far, Kansas City BBQ is just embarrassing. very overpriced.

got 2 KC Combo 3 Meats Dinners with turkey, beef & pork burnt ends, lamb rib and sausage. the turkey and lamb ribs were great. the sausage was alright and the burnt ends were sadly very very dry and tough. this is way more than usual dryness you can get from burnt ends.
sides: beans, French Fries, and Creamy Coleslaw are our go-to sides. not a fan of the Potato Salad but that's mostly personal preference.
the portions received were less than what I would expect for +$32
the meals also didn't come with bread when I know they used to.
