Jake's never dissapoints. The Smothered Turkey Wings were cooked perfectly and the peppery sightly spicy gravy that comes on them was excellent. The sweet plantains I got as ones of my sides were delicious. The Triple Chocolate cake is a great mixture of tractor and flavors - it really hit the spot. I definitely don't regret adding Coco Bread to my order either: it's fluffy, lightly sweet and a perfect accompaniment to the bold flavors in the Smothered Turkey Wings and the plantains.

As always, the sides are the star of the show with Jake's Soulfood. The sweet potato casserole is perfect--not too sweet, not too dense. The perfect texture, sweetness, saltiness, all! It DOES have nuts, so careful if you're allergic. The collard greens and Caribbean rice are standard, still good. Corn bread IS dry, but it's not bad. Good for crumbling into your greens. I was expecting a totally different flavor with the smothered turkey wings. It's probably on me, but it had much more of a Thanksgiving-type of flavor than I was looking for from a Caribbean/ lapel food joint. Could have had more depth in the spices and flavor, but I still gobbled them up. Lastly, the strawberry cake tagged like generic restaurant strawberry cake. I was hoping for more. The slide is huge, though, so there's that. P.S. the ginger beer is amazing!!

Jake's Fried Wings Deluxe the fried chicken was hands down some of the best I've had. If you are looking for comfort food that is very tasty and very fresh this is the place for you! There is more than plenty for one person in one order. Well done chef!!

Chicken Wings were good, catfish small and tasted funny, cabbage taste old, cornbread was old and tough, Mac n cheese bland, and very expensive for the what I received
. I'm new to the area and very disappointed, will not order again.

The Strawberry Lemonade was good and cold . The Smothered Turkey Wings were tender and well seasoned. The Mac and cheese was absolutely done right. The collards were okay. This was my first time trying Plantains and had no idea what expect. I found the cornbread too dry. I will definitely order again absent certain items
