From the first bite, it was clear why Japonessa stands out in Seattle's sushi scene. I ordered the Bluefin Otoro nigiri, and each piece was a melt-in-your-mouth experience, showcasing the freshness and high quality of the fish. The Rainbow Roll was equally impressive, both visually and taste-wise, with vibrant layers of fish that were perfectly creamy. Even the miso soup and green tea ice cream were exceptional, adding comforting warmth and a sweet, refreshing finish to my meal. Fast delivery and consistently great food make Japonessa a top choice for anyone craving quality sushi at home. Recommended!

The Seattle Roll was rolled so poorly that it fell apart immediately when trying to take it out of the box and made it challenging to eat. There was a clear gap between the ends of the nori, which I suspect created a weak point. The Miso Soup was good, but the portion was very small. I won't order from here again.

This is a joke to omakase. The fish quality is definitely higher than regular sushi, but the piece itself is lack of flavor and depth. They give cheap wasabi and cheap soysauce packages on the side. They don't even put wasabi or soysauce in side the piece. Omakase is not supposed to be like regular sushi dipping in soysauce with wasabi. Each piece should have it own purpose. There are in total 3 pieces of salmons in different areas of the fish - too many salmons in a plate despite of the fact that we're in a the current salmon season. Overpriced for a bit higher than regular sushi and definitely not omakase.

I never thought I'd be sad to have real crab in a roll, but I kept choking on pieces of shell. The edamame tasted good but was overcooked and had much damage. The miso soup was delicious, I could live on it. If there's a next time, I'll go back to my safe, shell free rolls if I order any and order double the soup so I can get a whole cup. The avocado roll had a dolled up flavor that was good, but you only get six pieces that are bare the circumference of my thumb. All said and done, I paid $50 that made think I should have just ordered groceries.
