Not gone lie this my favorite restaurant now. The yams and the Mac and cheese and jerk wings is so good to me I haven't tried anything else but this order its a 10/10 I will definitely order again and love they happy hours they food is so fresh the meat on the bone just comes off so easily. Yams taste sooo sweet and Mac and cheese definitely be giving and they fill up the sides to the top too.

I ordered from Jerk Soul Food during happy hour and was impressed by the pricing and portion sizes. I went with the jerk wings and picked candied yams and cabbage as my sides. Everything arrived hot and fresh, and the generous helping even included a bed of rice and peas under the chicken, which was a nice surprise.
The cabbage had great depth of flavor and seasoned very well thanks to the smoked meat, and the yams were rich and had a really smooth texture. Unfortunately, the wings didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I love spicy food, but the heat overpowered any traditional, smoked jerk flavor I was hoping for—the chicken itself lacked seasoning beyond the sauce.
Even though the wings were a letdown, I can see why the restaurant has so many great reviews. I probably won’t reorder right away, but I’m open to giving them another try.

Best Soul/Jerk Food in Bronzeville Chicago! Food always hot, not overly seasoned, and filling! Thank you for the continued great customer service too! I can order from here almost everyday- they give discounts for lunch. Enjoy!

Omg. Listen to the reviews. This food is amazing and I am a tough food critic. The wings were so flavorful and juicy and tender. The yams were PERFECT!!! Just the right, perfect sweetness and perfect texture omg. The Mac and cheese was good and the Jerk Wings automatically came with rice and peas in case youre wondering. 10/10 highly recommend. The Cornbread was okay, it was sweet but too salty.

I've ordered from here a few times and the food is always fresh and flavorful. I've tried the baked chicken dinner, the bbq chicken dinner(the bbq chicken has a nice spice) and the fried chicken dinner. Also, the sides are nice portions and well seasoned.
