I discovered Junebug cafe by complete accident and now it is one of my favorite restaurants! I order there at least twice a month. I love the hand pies . The Beignets and gumbo tastes just like New Orleans.

Can I tell you about the delicious beignets they make here.Delicious pillow pockets of pastry dusted with powdered sugar each bite is a heavenly angelic taste to delight the tongue. Went to New Orleans forgot to go to Cafe Du Monde but low and behold I found Cafe Junebug in Chicago! The meat pies are super yummy their filling nicely seasoned and one with their amazing coffee is Lunch! This cafe has the soul of New Orleans in their food! A must try Chicagoans!

The JuneBug Gumbo was very tasty (de-li-cious ), but the portion was for so small. The 'Te Rouge red beans and rice pie was horrible ( maybe they overcooked it). The coffee was excellent. I don't think the portions are worth buying from this restaurant.

That GUMBO! Always solid tasting. Delicious! The pies are so good as well. Oat milk lattes. They even re-steamed my latte after I picked it up a bit late. So nice! Great work JuneBug!
