• 7/17/22A very authentic Indian restaurant - coming from a highly critical Indian foodie LOL. I always get their regular chicken/lamb biryani. Never disappoints! Also I could never thought you could make such a good curry with catfish until I tried theirs. Their portion is generous and the quality is worth every penny.

• 5/22/26I've said it many times- best indian food in Charlottesville! Everything is always perfect, hot, fresh and the price definitely matches the value! Portion sizes are great too. Our favorites are the Goan Curry and Palak Paneer, with Garlic Naan and a Mango Lassi!

Y also get more than enough rice in the entrees that you don't need to order extra.
Could not recommend more.
The pakoras are high-quality, but not for me.

• 7/23/25Love this restaurant, was really bummed when it had shut down for awhile so now that its opened happy to order. Butter Chicken has the perfect spice blend and thickness I like. Other places make it too watery. Portion sizes were great as well! And food is packaged nicely and stays warm.

• 6/7/25Ordered chicken Khorma & it was not Khorma. Looked like a butter chicken sauce - more red vs yellow & no Khorma garnishes. Did not taste like Khorma & chicken pieces not tender at all.
Also ordered lamb vindaloo & lamb tasted off & also not tender.
Very disappointing overall. Won't order from Maharaja again. We love Indian cuisine (lived in London for many years) but this wasn't it.
