Chips were made in house, very delicious! Chips and Salsa were delicious but for 4.99 you get 3 tiny salsas with a large amount of chips not enough. The Pescado / Fish Taco s were simple and freshly prepared.

I love this restaurant all the food is fresh and delicious. It's a great value they don't skimp on the portions. Highly recommended the Tostada Loca . Comes with a whole oyster .

A hidden gem in Santa Maria, El Picosito delivers the kind of honest, flavorful food that reminds you why small local spots often outperform larger, overhyped restaurants. We ordered a simple plate of rice, beans, and shrimp for our daughter—an uncomplicated dish that turned out to be anything but ordinary. The shrimp were tender and well-seasoned, with a freshness that stood out immediately. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, while the beans had that slow-cooked depth that only comes from a kitchen that knows its craft. My wife chose the Gobernador burger, inspired by the classic Mexican gobernador style—shrimp sautéed with melted cheese, layered into a rich, savory bite. It was indulgent in the best way: juicy shrimp, perfectly melted cheese, and a balance of textures that made every bite satisfying without feeling overly heavy. I opted for the Gobernador burrito, which took those same flavors and wrapped them into a generous tortilla. The combination of shrimp and cheese was bold and comforting, and the portion size was impressive. Despite the hearty filling, the burrito remained well-balanced and flavorful from start to finish. What truly sets El Picosito apart is the value. The food tastes like it should cost far more than it does. In a time when prices climb everywhere, it’s refreshing to find a place that offers high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and authentic flavor without cutting corners. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this shrimp burger as much as I did, but wow—it was honestly amazing. The shrimp patty was packed with flavor, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. You can tell it’s made with real shrimp, not just filler. It came with a side of crinkle-cut fries, and even though they’re the frozen kind, but they were golden, crispy and super satisfying. Classic comfort food done right. The two sauces were a great touch—one spicy with a nice kick, and the other a creamy, tangy thousand island-style sauce. Both were perfect for dipping the fries and added extra flavor to the burger too. I couldn’t decide which I liked more. Overall, this meal hit the spot. Flavorful, filling, and way better than I expected. I’d absolutely get it again!

Placed a pickup order and when arriving asked if they had guacamole and chips to purchase they say yes. Charge $5.43 and hand us our receipt. 10 minutes later still waiting and they are not even busy. There are 4 tables empty at this point. The guy that took our order realizes we are still waiting and asks us what we are still doing here and we tell him we're still waiting he goes to the back and then a few minutes later he brings up a bag and hands it to us. We open it and it is some cold chips with no salt and their little containers of salsa that they give to you with your food. If they couldn't make or don't have guacamole why not just say that? Why charge someone for something and pretend? Then with the tacos we ordered there wasn't even a spoon full of meat on each taco. I've never had such poor service when ordering and eating in the restaurant. I've never seen their tacos look like this in prior orders. I hope it was just an off night.
