First time customer at Masala Spice and I am impressed! Generous portions, the Seafood Coconut Stew was gently flavored with well cooked seafood. The Goat Cheese Naan was unexpectedly great too, nice portions too. I enjoyed the rich and fatty Goat Curry as well. I ordered a few servings of rice and I got a huge trough!

Everything tasted great. The naan was flavorful. The shrimp was delicious and not overcooked. But I was surprised when there was a BOGO for the naan, that I just got one whole piece. And don't assume rice comes with the masala. It does not.

I order from this place often. Tonight, my sag Saag Paneer, had only ONE piece of cheese.
The naan was s hard, and dried out, it was like a cracker. It wasnt edible.
Im so surprised that it was so bad.

I have ordered from this restaurant in the past and it's been good, but today unfortunately it wasn't. The lamb biryani was so dry I couldn't eat it, especially the lamb pieces, like dust. And another eggplant dish wasn't very good either. The sauce was so oily I'm gonna have to wait till tomorrow, put it in the fridge and separate the oil from the rest of the sauce. And I don't shy away from a little greasy food sometimes, Also, they charge extra for the chutneys and barely send any. In most Indian restaurants that just comes with the food. I might order again, but not these dishes.

I've been looking for great Indian cuisine in the Santa Barbara area, having moved from an area with tons of great Indian restaurants. The chicken biryani, garlic naan and dal were delicious. The potions were big and enough to share. I would order again! Very delighted.
