In 2001, Jerry Lasco, the founder of MAX's Wine Dive, and his wife, Laura, relocated to Houston from New York City. After 9/11, Jerry made the shift from airline pilot to full-time restauranteur, and …
Omg. The waffles were light and fluffy with a great vanilla flavor. The chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned like a pro. Everything was fresh and more than enough for one person, so I shared with my mom. She enjoyed it as much as I did.

The other location was so much better and more consistent. I have ordered the crackling chicken multiple times and the last time it was straight up burnt. The time before that the risotto wasn't cooked through. When the location in montrose was open, I ordered this dish 2x a week and never had a single issue. So disappointing.

This was the worst meal that I've had in a long time. This was not my first time having it but it will be the last. The Cracklin’ Chicken was extremely salty but not seasoned, just salty… the risotto was extremely mushy and flavorless… the broth that they gave me to smelled spoiled. The Mac and Mac and Cheese has a weird almost ham flavor but it's not like ham it's just nasty. It would've been better off having no flavor at all. The texture was amazing though. The Caesar Salad clearly had unwashed lettuce and the Caesar salad was the worst Caesar salad dressing I've ever had… It's just tasted like anchovies and mayonnaise. I'm actually bewildered at how bad this meal was. I don't know if they are under new management or what but it was a waste of money.

The risotto had a great flavor, but it wasn't creamy. Instead, it had an excessive amount of liquid. The chicken lacked flavor, and the skin (cracklin') wasn't crispy.
