After I placed my order, I called the restaurant to ask them to please be sure to put my rice for both beans on the side for a bariatric patient, and I'm beyond grateful that they did just that! My Red Bean Plate (Melbas) were creamy, delicious and hot! The cornbread is always great! The smoked sausage was cooked to literal perfection! Will definitely be ordering again!

My honest review on the steak, egg and cheese poboy. Number one, the sandwich was almost 30 dollars. $26.75 to be exact. That being said, it was definitely NOT worth it at all. The steak was dry, severely overcooked chopped up pieces. There was VERY little steak, mostly egg, didn’t put one of my cheeses that I paid for, which was 2 dollars and some change alone, not a SPRINKLE of seasoning, and the majority of the steak and egg was towards the middle of the sandwich, which is awful, and to absolutely beat a dead horse here, for almost 30 dollars, I’d absolutely expect to get my money’s worth, and have my sandwich full from end to end, and to have enough of what’s advertised and what I paid for on it! I try to defend Melba’s, people laugh at me for even supporting Melba’s as a local and as a chef, but things like this is why locals hardly support! Melba’s gets over and cuts corners, and they overcharge and majority of the time, they send out lackluster food and it’s not right!

best food we have had in awhile would definitely recommended Baked Chicken Plate (Melbas)was falling off the bone mac n cheese delicious corn bread fresh nsoft Shrimp & Grits (Melbas) was very seasoned husband at all of it n hes picky French Fry on Bun (melbas)best ive had in a minute Bread Pudding (Melbas) delicious as well 10/10 for everything will be trying other menu items from them!!

This was my first time trying "Melba's Poboys" and it's so good! I ordered the Red beans and rice plate(with Smoked Sausage) with jambalaya and y'all, this food is absolutely delicious! The portions are healthy as well! Definitely worth every penny! I will be ordering from here again... and again! And yes, I'm a local, born and raised in NOLA! THANK YOU MELBA'S! See you soon!
Note: Melba's was the ONLY restaurant that I could find that served Smoked Sausage with their Red beans! Everywhere else served Cajun Sausage! Big difference in sausage type

The fish plate, shrimp plate, 8oz.gumbo and 10pc parm. wings were awful!!!! The gumbo was all rice, no flavor, no juice and a few pieces of chicken!!! The fish plate with mac& cheese was horrible as well! The Mac and cheese had absolutely no flavor, the fish was greasy and not seasoned well either! The wings were swimming in sauce and soggy, I tried one and was disgusted! The inside was pink! We didn't touch the shrimp plate because it was insulting to say the least; 6-7 small-med shrimp and they appeared greasy as well!!!! I didn't bother taking any more pics! I'm just disgusted and irritated! I SPENT A TOTAL OF $92.00 FOR GARBAGE!!!! WON'T EVER ORDER AGAIN!
