I recently moved back to town and had forgotten all about this place. I used to hang there w/friends back in high school and I'm happy to say that the food is still DELICIOUS!
We ordered the taco plate, sour cream chicken enchiladas and the beef burrito w/queso. Everything arrived piping hot, fresh and made to order with love...just as I remembered it. Every dish has tons of meat, cheese, toppings and sides. They don't up-charge or skimp on the portions for delivery orders like some places do.
If you love Tex-Mex, don't think twice!

I’ve been eating at Mexicalis’ for 30 years. The food is authentic, the staff is friendly, fast, courteous, and if you’re looking for a Mexican food fix, look no further than Mexicalis’.

The nachos were great! I love that the beans, cheese, etc were spread on each individual tortilla chip. I personally did not enjoy the soup; it was greasy and the small amount of chicken was very fatty.

Well, it's true. This place will actually send you guacamole without any chips to eat it with and chips are not on the menu. Bean soup was too salty and had too much pico de gallo in it. chicken enchiladas were not fork tender. This used to be my favorite place for them. No chips, folks.

I had not been to this Tex-Mex joint in several years. I ordered via Doordash service. Delivery was fine. Food was packaged & delivered orderly and on time. The food? What happened? We had nachos, enchiladas, flamedo dip, and beef tacos. Each item was no different than the next... SALT. Each item tasted like a salt shaker had fallen into it. Other than SALT there were no other flavors. I am giving three stars since it might be better in the restaurant WITH margys, and I'll have to remember to order everything without any added salt. I want to try it again. This meal was $46.00. I'll try again later. Its not Mexican food. Its plain Tex-Mex aka over load it with low quality cheddar cheese. I didn't hate it. Easy on the wallet. Salsa is very very mild & a bit sweet.
