FOX valley is in for a treat! I'm happy that I don't have to travel to CHICAGO for authentic PUERTO RICAN food. Now I have not visited this place but I did order it through DOOR DASH. So, my review is solely off of tk out. The flavor was on point that I will visit the location SOON.
HERE IT goes!
Dinner platter: Everything was pretty much seasoned correctly. My opinion is the marinated pork should have had a piece of skin as advertised. I rated that 3 1/2. The portions were fair. The pasta salad was a bit over cooked. Rated 2.5 The rice was good I rate that a 5. The pastel was a surprise but a welcomed one. The texture and flavor was great but I wish I would have seen a traditional olive! Rated 4.5.
Alcapurra: (plantain meat pie) rated 4 - missing Ketchup/mayo dip
Pastillio: Pork meat pie 3.5 Turnover texture too flaky where it's falling apart and way to greasy.
Please see pics. I spent $45 on Door Dash. In total they still are a 4!! I'm super excited to try more! no cake included

There was no onions or sauce like in the pic and my plantains were not smashed flat and crispy like in the pic but other than that the food still tasted delicious good season on the chicken it was also super juicy and beans were flavorful

The corn fritters were the best thing I ate and they were under cooked. the Queso Frito en Salsa de Guayaba / Fried Cheese in Guava Sauce was fine.Pastelillos de Pernil / Pork Pastelillos was not good.the pork was very dry and almost inedible. Pastelillos with seasoned meat was pretty decent but the meat is definitely not beef and not disclosed.Frappe de parcha was the worst thing! it had whole seeds and blended seeds in it and just tastes sour and bitter with shards of sharp seed bits in it.

The pollo con papas is consistently inconsistency, always a different cut of chicken. Each time I've ordered, it went from a quarter to chicken, to drums, now to a couple wings.

I only get four stars because the piña colada was good and the empanada but the other stuff was not good
