I love Mike's Hot Chicken!! It has become my go-to "hot chicken" place.
The Crispy Chicken MikeWich is so good!! I always get a Side Mike's Hot Sauce and a Side Mike's Mild Sauce to dip it in.
However, I'm going to be honest. I have ordered them many, many times since they opened (that's how much I love them), and they are still inconsistent.
Sometimes my sandwich comes with the "red dust on it and/or on the fries, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes my sandwich comes with the Mike Drip Sauce, and sometimes it doesn't.
I ordered MHC just a week ago, and the order that I received was missing the "red dust", the pickles (which is unforgivable in my eyes), and the Mike's Drip Sauce.
On top of all of that, the sandwich was actually burnt on the end of it.
I also ordered MHC today, and the order that I received was missing the "red dust" and the Mike's Drip Sauce.
On top of that, I had ordered the "combo", and my drink was completely missing.
I don't know if the inconsistency is from lack of employee training, or if it's employees not knowing all the ingredients that go on the sandwiches, or if it's employees not paying attention/cutting corners.
And like I said, I love Mike's Hot Chicken.
It's different from all of the other "hot chicken" places around here.
I've been ordering it about two times a week for the past two months because that's how good it is.
The sandwich portion is large, and is always tender (except for last week's order).
The flavor of the sauces is sooo good!!
I order from this restaurant so frequently because I literally crave the flavor, that's how good it is.
They just need to work on their consistency.
I also have to mention that charging $2.50 for 2–oz. side sauces is a little bit too much, especially when every single time I receive the side sauces, they are only half–filled.
I would either lower the price of the side sauces, keep the price of the side sauces, but give larger portions of them (4 oz. instead of 2 oz.), or at least fill them all the way.
I consistently receive 2–oz. side sauces that are only half–filled.
However, with all of that being said, I will keep returning as their chicken and sauces are so good that their quality and flavor eclipses their inconsistency.
