Review: Moe’s Southwest Grill off Highway 280 (Birmingham, AL)
I recently tried a burrito from Moe’s Kitchen, and while everything was undeniably fresh, the overall flavor profile left me wanting more. The burrito wasn’t constructed in a way that gave you a balanced bite; instead of getting a little bit of everything, the ingredients felt separated. The biggest issue for me was the lack of seasoning, especially on the meat. It made the burrito taste a bit bland.
That said, there were two standout elements: the green tomatillo salsa and the queso. The salsa is genuinely one of the best I’ve had; bright, tangy, and full of potential. I added a little salt and pepper at home, and it transformed into something truly special. The queso, on the other hand, acted like a seasoning agent for the entire burrito. It brought the salt balance and added depth, waking up the flavors inside.
If you’re ordering from Moe’s, I’d recommend customizing your burrito with extra seasoning or asking for the queso and green salsa on the side; they’re the real stars of the show.

unless you want a bowl on mainly just rice that cost $18 this isn't the place completely overpriced rice. that's what you get in a bowl from this location

Rice was hard, chicken was dry, they put peppers and onions in the Homewrecker Bowl I ordered specifically without onions and green peppers. Overall bad meal, and one of the worst bowls I've had.

Ordered the nachos with steak and it only had 4 small pieces of steak. $17 for small veggie nachos.
