Very high quality. My sukiyaki bento box was very Japanese with its organization and subtle flavors. For a take-out spot, this is more like what you'd get in Japan than in many other Asian restaurants in Chciago .

The Makunouchi (Unagi) is easily among the most outstanding I've ever eaten, maybe even the best. Such a delightful presentation and true to the traditional bento & Ekiben forms, where you discover hidden items as you eat & each side dish feels fresher & more delicious than the last. Feels like a very generously-portioned (in case you're doubting the price tag) home cooked meal prepared and packed by someone with a rare amount of intention & care for not just how the food will taste, but how well it will travel. You can feel the that the chef wants your meal to be a joyful experience filled with little surprises. Truly a new favorite meal of mine in the city that I plan to order again and again.

the unagi was reallly good! I ordered the sukiyaki for the second time, it was really good too but sadly they made their portions so much smaller than the first time. I dont think it was worth 20 dollars :( sadly wont be ordering again

The breading on the katsu was delicious and so was the rice! The curry tasted a bit too much like corn to me but it was still good as well. I feel very full and satisfied!

I was really looking forward to some nostalgic traditional japanese flavors. I got the Makunouchi (Saikyoyaki) and the Vegetable Gyoza (5pc)
The saikyoyaki cod did not have a traditional saikyoyaki flavor. They made it so spicy that the saikyo miso was completely overpowered, and it was covered in red spice, not at all like the photo on the menu.
The goma-ae tasted unusual for goma-ae in a way that I didnt personally like very much. The parts that were closest to what one would normally expect from more traditional japanese food were the umeboshi, daikon, karaage, and rice.
The Vegetable Gyoza (5pc) tasted good but also looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. They were green, which is fine, but I think the photo should reflect that so that people know what they will get.
TL;DR Overall the quality was quite good, but many of the flavors were disappointing for what I ordered. For people unfamiliar with these dishes in general, it's probably quite good. For people familiar with them who want that experience, it may be disappointing.
