The curry is savory, well spiced and flavorful. The chicken karaage is amazing. The rice is perfectly cooked, moist and fresh. i wish it was packaged a bit differently. There were separate containers for the same curry and rice that were half full when they could've combined them. If you like each serving separated than you'll like this. It was just a lot of containers for me.

I think there needs to be a proper and detailed review as Japanese curry is one of my favorite dishes:
Portion size:
Half of the container was filled with curry...half. Pork cutlet was the size of a childs hand, the rice was the only decent size portion. To pay for extra portion would not have been worth it considering this was a bit expensive already. (See pictures below)
Flavor:
the beef curry itself had a sweeter / spicier flavor profile. Not too salty, hefty in consistency. Personally no complaints there. I like my curry more on the savory side but every place is different.
Pork cutlet was somewhat moist, but lacking in seasoning, even a bit of salt could've went a long way.
Packaging:
Excellent
Would i order again? Maybe but only if portions are better, and seasoning the pork cutlet happens.

My first time trying this restaurant and unfortunately the aji and other seafood pieces are very small, compared to the large volume of rice (about 1.5cups) and a small amount of curry which got absorbed by the rice. The taste wasn't fantastic as the fish pieces were likely frozen then fried. Hoped for an authentic Japanese curry dish to enjoy but spent a lot for not a great meal experience. Genuinely just no notes on either the NEW "Popeye Curry" Pork & Spinach or the Japanese Potato Croquettes Curry, both were delicious, affordable, perfectly packaged, and this is coming from someone who in general hates the bay area food scene

Nippon Curry serves Hinoya Curry, which in my opinion is the best Japanese curry in the world (it even won the Grand Prix in 2013). The curry itself is top-tier and the packaging is excellent for delivery - keeps everything separate until you're ready to combine it all into the huge provided bowl. Of course I'd rather eat at the restaurant itself but I can't imagine how the delivery experience could be any better. The katsu and karaage are wonderful toppings, but the secret weapon is probably the Kani Cream Croquette, which oozes a delicious crab-flavored cream over everything when you break it open, like a seafood-flavored Cadbury egg. You cannot go wrong. Nippon Curry for life.
