Old Street always presents terrific
Dim Sum without the huge hassle
of having to go to Chinatown in
Flushing or Manhattan.
We recommend the Eggplant W.
Fish Slide & the Shrimp Shumai
W. Pork in particular.
Our favorite is Seafood W. Bamboo
Skin. Old Street is also very flexible
in making substitutes or refunds
when your favorites sell out.
We feel lucky that they are nearby.

DELICIOUS and AUTHENTIC dim
sum from Old Street on the Post
Road in Milford.
If you always order the exact same
thing you are likely to miss out on a
new treat or adventure.
This time, we ordered some new (to
us) items along with our favorites.
This is the 1st time we tried the
GangShi NanGuaGao (Hong Kong
Style Pumpkin Cake). Another ver-
sion we've had is like NianGao (the
rice flour cake eaten at New Year),
but this one was like BaiTangGao,
except spongy & not the honeycomb
structure familiar to us.
It was DELIGHTFUL. Like a dessert
straight out of Chinatown. Subtle
sweetness.
Our favorite may not be familiar to
others. The XianZhuJuan (Seafood
Bamboo Skin Roll). The bamboo
skin is really the skimmed top layer
obtained when cooking DouFu.
This is REALLY DELICIOUS and
everyone should try it with an open
mind.
EVERYTHING WAS TERRIFIC from
Old Street, and we'll give details in
a future review.

The food at OSDS (Old Street
Dim Sum & Hot Pot) is BETTER
than ever.
The Seafood & Bamboo Skin roll is
my mom's favorite, and now it's my
favorite, too. The outside is the top
skimmed off of DouFu (as it's being
made) and is less starchy than mian
shi or than rice flour skins.
On the other hand, the Soup Dump-
lings are wrapped in a very thin mian
shi skin. And the filling is incredibly
delicious (Crab yellow).
OUTSTANDING!
It's a tradition to have dumplings in
the new year.
The other dishes: Beef Tendons,
Chinese Broccoli and Radish Cake
(LuoBo Gao) are well-executed
standards of Dim Sum.
Careful ordering the Beef Tendons
-- the texture may be unfamiliar.
You might as well order something
you'll thoroughly enjoy, especially
during New Year.
They are high in collagen, which is
good for skin & joints.
The Radish Cake may also be a new
experience; but it's a great holiday
treat for the Chinese.
Xin Nian Quai le, everyone!
Excellent driving from Mark.

The fried rice was white and bland. I had to add seasonings at home which made it a lot better. Same with the pork dumplings. The texture was great but it lacked seasoning. Great portions and quality, but lacked seasoning overall. I will probably not order again.

The crystal shrimp was decent, the duck was very burnt & dry & I could not eat it. The shrimp rice roll was just a shrimp inside the wrap, no seasoning or anything. I will not ever order again.
