Sometimes it is just enough when a restaurant doesn't try to reinvent the wheel or be something that they are not. Palmar is just such a restaurant. I repeat myself: Good,solid, straight forward Mexican and Latin food. Not inexpensive, but fairly priced.The Supremas was quite a bit of food, and @ $19.00 might seem a bit over priced---but considering that I didn't have to lift a finger to either cook it or clean up after cooking it I am willing to bear the cost. And as for the Shrimp Cocktail--same as before--a ton of shrimp, and again, yes, a bit expensive, But generally you get what you pay for.

If you want straight up no surprises Mexican food then order this version of enchiladas. Exactly what it says it is, and quite good—my only complaint would be that the chicken was kinda blah and was quite dry.More beans would have been nice, but I did have enough rice to feed a small army, so I got by. And the Shrimp Cocktail? A quart container almost filled with a mild, sweet tomato salsa and no less than TEN large shrimp. (Hence the seemingly high price).Very good as well. And yes, worth the money.

Pros: good portion size for cost
Cons: The food in the queso fundido palmar was so over cooked I could hardly chew some of the food. The shrimp did not taste fresh.
Overall would not recommend getting any seafood from here. Can't speak on the other meats.

Disappointed that the Ceviche spilled all over the bag prior to delivery. All the lime juice/s caused the Chips (Side) bag to break and the Chips arrived soggy.I do like my Ceviche with a little juicy but was still tasty none the less.
The Ceviche does come with avocado, the description does not mention it. I ordered a side of Avocado . I would not have ordered the side had I known.
However, the avacado is perfrectly fresh.
The Horchata is huge and was a nice treat on this HOT afternoon.
The Cheese Dip needed to be warmed up just a little bit but was very good and warmed up well. Didn't get thin.

I had the Juan big Juan Big Burrito. It was big, but nothing more than bland chicken and tough steak, and Spanish rice. The Street Tacos were greasy and flavorless (chicken). This experience is consistent with my previous visit. I will not be going back. So many other good options.
