Best Smoke Salmon Sandwich around the Hudson county area. It definitely competes with similar lox sandwich you will see across the Hudson in Manhattan. Please keep making your magic in kitchen, hope to be back soon to this fine establishment!

I had to give a 5-Star rating due to how delicious all of the food was. Let's start with the good...
The Smoke Salmon Sandwich was very good. Not too much salmon on it, but enough to taste it in the mix. The pickled onions were very mild and I enjoyed them on there. The bread it comes on is the magic. Whatever roll they used was magnificent.
Then there was the French Toast. This was the best I've had in many years. The chef and/or cooks here know what they're doing. I can not recommend this dish enough. It's hard to find French Toast this good.
Now for the not so good...
The side greens (mixed salad) that came alongside the Smoke Salmon Sandwich had a vinaigrette with balsamic that just didn't go well with the salmon sandwich. Because they salad was up against the sandwich in the container, and since the sandwich was not wrapped, the dressing got on the bread, and the flavors just don't go well together at all. Even just smelling the dressing on the plate while eating the sandwich was clashing. If I ordered this again, I'd ask them to omit the salad, or use another dressing like a squeeze of lemon and some olive oil. The balsamic is a poor choice.
Then they only provided a single small syrup on the side for the 2 large (very generous sized) orders of French Toast that we got. Not nearly enough. Luckily I have good syrup at home. I would have removed a star from my rating if I wasn't able to source my own, but this store should take these things into consideration going forward. Each plate should come with its own syrup, and it would be worth wrapping the sandwich in parchment paper before plating it with the salad.
Overall, these little issues were not impactful enough for me to rate under 5-stars today. The food really is excellent and we don't have so many great restaurants or cafes in the area. We have many, but not many THIS good. If they choose to not improve these easy fixes or oversights, I would remove a star from future orders. As a restaurant owner, I strongly urge them to find a better paired dressing for the salad in the Smoke Salmon Sandwich. The dish could easily become 10/10 with the slight alteration.
Try the Chai Latté. My fiancé said it was excellent.
Final verdict: Worth every penny. Highly recommend. Will order again.
