Puerto Viejo is a Dominican bistro in Brooklyn that has been open since 1986. The aroma of our delectable Dominican food will meet you as you…
Food is a expensive but portions are generous, and the taste is unbeatable. Best Dominican food I've had in Brooklyn altogether. I can't wait to return here with my partner; the interior had a great vibe too

This restaurant consistently takes too long to prepare orders. My dasher had to leave the restaurant because they took so long this time. Delivered 30 minutes past the original delivery estimate. Portions are smaller than other Dominican restaurants, but more expensive. The pernil was ok but not great. Yucca fries were fine.

It was okay, quality, price, and taste were pretty good. But my main issue was that I didn’t know my stewed chicken dish would be full of bones. It came with like 5 chunks of chicken, EACH with their own individual bone. It was a pain just to get the meat off, and then when I did I’d still find myself chewing on a bone occasionally. It’s just too much work for a takeout dish haha. Maybe try clarifying which dishes have meat on the bones vs which ones are boneless. Also the red beans and rice werent the best, nothing wrong with them just not my favorite. I probably wouldn’t order from here again, but I can see why others would like it.
