Wow, I have previously enjoyed Reverends but for some reason tonight it was sooo delectable... maybe it's cause I am getting taste back after covid haha... but the brisket had that bacon-y umami vibe and the little crumbled.. chips?? On the Mac n cheese... I try to make the orders last two dinners but it was almost hard to stop!!

I had high expectations after paying as much as I did. everything was over salted or had too much vinegar. the ribs were tender but not very flavorful, the brisket was dry. the sides were small and bland. the fries are good but not good enough to justify 30 dollars a plate. The ribs were dry where they had meat and there wasn't a lot. Only getting 3 for 28$ is pretty insane. The fries were good, the Mac on the other hand was heavy in onion flavor and overcooked. They also use small shells which seem to turn into a ball and is topped with flavorless hard crunchy pieces. Fries and white bread being the best thing at a bbq place is sad.

I order from here quite often no problems, but the past 2 times have been bad. The first time, I thought it was a fluke, this time even worse. The pork ribs were small and felt like beef jerky literally that hard and no meat at all. It was all bone. The sides were great, but the ribs are the main dish. I don't know if i'm going to chance it a 3rd time.

Reverend's is consistently one of the best BBQ places in Portland. While the food is excellent and on par with any of the better BBQ you've ever had, what I like about ordering delivery from this place is that the orders are always well-packaged and the hot items are still hot, while the cold are not warm. This meal in particular, the Sliced Beef Brisket Plate, is so good, especially with the add-ons of fried chicken and pork ribs. My only gripe with this place is that they don't have a good sampler plate option for one person. But a minor quibble. Great, great place overall.
