The Raspberry Marzipan Princess Cake (v) is so delicious! (and dairy free but you'd never know that on taste alone).

Welp... I really wanted to like you Salt & Straw. With your wildly innovative flavor combinations like Pear and Blue Cheese and Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise I imagined a decadent culinary treat. Sadly, I was underwhelmed by both. The flavors are barely present leaving me with $15 pints of mediocre vanilla ice cream. Also, with a price tag like that I was really hoping I wouldn't see preservatives & emulsifiers in the ingredients. The Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise is slightly better than the Pear and Blue Cheese ... but nothing special. The Toasted Anise and Blue Cheese - the ingredients that are supposed to make each selection standout are pretty much non existent. They managed to make exciting flavor combinations dull & disappointing. For me, Salt & Straw really missed their mark.
