• 5/1/26Hold your horses!!! The Kolache Dippers are a GAME CHANGER!!! No offense, but the regular kolaches are just ..., well, ... kolaches at best, or, depending on the menu item, isn't any better. But they're consistent, and the kids love a Shirley's treat every once in awhile. Today was one such day, when the weather was tempting "kids, stay home!," but the school calendar was shouting," "you can't!! Not yet!" The school calendar won the battle, but with the concession of a treat from Shirley's to motivate the kids to get up and ready. And that's when we discovered the Kolache Dippers!!! Wow!!! Ok, maybe I was just hungry, or maybe I had really low expectations. Whatever the case, I had one and thought it was magnificently flavorful, not gritty, spicy enough for me to call it "spicy," but not so spicy that teens would call it "too spicy," and the dough seemed less sweet than their regular kolache dough. I'm not sure how that is, though, because I suspect they would use the same dough ??? Maybe it is less sweet because they use a thinner layer / thinner ratio of dough. Whatever it is, they do it well! We skipped the dip! We enjoyed them plain and recommend you do the same! In fact, I suggest skip the donuts and everything else and just get a bag of the Kolache Dippers to enjoy! That's a great treat for a rainy day or, heck, any day you want an easy, hot, hand-held breakfast item or snack. Take care.

• 5/1/24Worse experience ordering donuts. The donuts are way over fried! Such a disappointment. Friendswood shipleys is way better.
