What a wonderful meal!
Far above any other Chinese food we've had in 30 years in Boston.
Complex tastes, and despite the inevitable delay for packing and delivery, everything we ordered was light, fresh and distinct.
Spicy means spicy here, and I may order Ginger & Scallion Chicken (P) "mild" next time, but my husband was happy with his "authentic" Grandma’s Pork (P) as he flushed pink, leaked tears, and his nose ran. (P) pleased our vegetarian.
The Steamed sweet potato bao and Steamed Pork Bao (P) were light and delicious.
Lovely Wok’d Fried Rice 湖南腊肉炒饭 (P), Black Rice 黑米饭 (P) and White Rice 白米饭 (P), too.

Items are tasty and well-prepared, with the sizzling calamari particularly good, with tender, moist tentacles and well-balanced flavors.
From a previous order:
Yellow River Beef: the fatty beef has good flavor and texture; flavor is dominated by the acidity of the pickled items, obscuring many of the other flavors.

We've gotten Yellow River Beef (P) quite a few times from Sumiao. But this time the quality was really bad. It seemed like beef was added to oil and spices, but there was no yellow curry at all. It was not at all yellow like it has been in the past, only very oily. Quite disappointed.

Incredibly overpriced, small portions, food took forever (multiple dashers had to wait). Didn't include napkins or utensils. Would not recommend
