Tacubaya is a taqueria in the 4th Street shopping district of Berkeley. It is named after the neighborhood in Mexico City where famed architect Luis Barragan lived. Much like Barragan's modern archite…
Loved the tacos, cucumber salsa, green salsa and the fact that you get to select your salsa and that you even get salsa. I love Latin food and salsa and most restaurants don't give you salsa with your order, and certainly don't have salsa options. Already looking forward to my next order.

Sopa de Tortilla was pretty mild compared to others ive had in the past. Had a good amount of shredded chicken and sliced avocado. Crispy tortilla chips came on the side..
Chicken taco was yummy. Crispy but not greasy. Comes with side of pickled carrots and jalapeños.
Its not the best Mexican in the area but ive been inside tge restaurant and its always super clean which makes me feel better about ordering food from there.

As I opened the bag that appeared stapled shut I was immediately stabbed by two staples that hadn't made it all the way through the paper bag. Ouch. I hope the restaurant can take better care.
The food was good but portions are on the small side. $11 for one tamal! At these prices I want to know that the ingredients are clean and local.

These crunchy Pollo Taco and the Guacamole & Chips are hella good. One of my faves in the bay area.

Chile Relleno was way undercooked and served with white sauce instead of red. Breading was soft and mushy; inside was hard. The papas cremas were very dry. This isn't the standard for Tacubaya. On a good note, both the beef and chicken tacos were delicious! Hopefully this was a one time thing as this restaurant has already been delicious.
