There will always be one mediocre item in a bunch to keep them from getting five stars, but this is a great bakery. One pastry ought to fill you up but other places don't quite: Tartine does. Substantial, flaky and buttery croissant-type pastries are my favorite.

just got into SF and quickly ordered from Tartine... we had minutes to decide and took a shot at the fig and pig FIG & PIG PIZZA and MEATBALLS . Both were just excellent. portions perfect for two, taste was fresh and amazing, probably the best flavored pizza we've had!! highly recommend this place!

If you like mushroom soup, you'll love this one. Chocolate croissant was half the size of my head and every bite delicious - loved it!
Goddess salad, amazing! TM is my new favorite place. Thanks for the great food! Yay!

Ordered MORNING BUN and SIDE 1 EGG for breakfast along with dinner choice of CRISPY POTATOES and SIDE GRILLED CHICKEN THIGH. Breakfast was awesome and reinforced our love for the bun and beautiful perfect fried egg. Very fresh and will of course order again (and again). SIDE GRILLED CHICKEN THIGH is juicy and delicious and with potatoes and side salad is a great dinner.

My first order of the CRISPY POTATOES with no sauce and extra crispy and will definitely order again. It's a generous serving for two and arrived still hot so we knoshed on those. As expected the SIDE GRILLED CHICKEN THIGH was delicious and a great main dish to go with the potatoes and small salad. As always Tartine's delivered beyond expectations.
