Context: i lived in JP for a decade, specifially Osaka where takoyaki comes from. this is the first place i've found where it's actually nice. when i ate the firsti was so elated o gonbled them up so here is my equally good sushi.

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice Bowl was super yummy, chicken perfectly crispy and he curry had amazing flavor, but the cup of curry was less than half full. Not enough to give flavor to the generous portion of chicken and rice.

First time getting food from here and wow. Would order daily if I were loaded. Literally so good. California Roll (8pcs) was 10/10 so good. Spicy Tofu Roll (6pc) was lightly spicy and so yummy. Signature Poke Bowl was excellent. Portion sizes are normal and freshness was excellent. The roe was huge compared to what I'm used to, a little bit of surprise with the flavor (since the tiny ones don't taste like anything, they're just fun to pop) but got used to it. The wasabi was way different than I'm used to. So smooth and not insanely spicy. I'm poor so I don't know if that makes it higher quality or lower but I loved it. 10/10 recommend. Literally the only bummer is they didn't give us any chopsticks or napkins but we made it work.

Seared Salmon Don was just okay; it had less sear than pictured so only a few bites had char and there wasn't much of a smoky, umami flavor you'd expect from other seared salmon nigiri. The salmon still tasted good with the lemon & soy sauce packet, and the rice was good - but for the price I'd try something different next time, especially if you're expecting a deep, seared flavor.

not bad. got the Nigiri Sets (10pcs) (Salmon 2pc, Tuna 2pc, Yellowtail 2pc, Ebi 2pc, Scallop 2pc) and the Chirashi Deluxe. both are decent.
the nigiri was a smidge fishy smelling and a bit warm (delivery was relatively fast though) so minus one star. taste was decent, portion not bad. chirashi was good too, bit less fish but enough rice and some seaweed salad to offset it. imo chirashi is better value and I'll probably stick with that in the future.
I managed to eat both in one sitting, but very full
