This is easily the best southern food in San Diego. Louisiana, specifically. We've tried most things on the menu and they've all been delicious, including the diaspora dishes they have right now. I appreciate that they use fresh okra instead of just frying it and they make the best rum cake I've ever had. You can't go wrong here.

Fried chicken was good, greens were tasty, but had too many Bay leaves. Who makes succotash with beans? It was seasoned well, no beans please. Gumbo was fantastic! And dessert? Sweet Sally's Sweetie Potato Pecan Tarts was really good. $7.00? I won't be ordering that again at that price. I will probably go in person next time!

The plate was so bomb I really like the red beans Mac too but it was a bit spicy but really good !
Gumbo was decent but I expected crab in it expected more flavors as well but overall I could eat there again great portions

Grandma's gumbo was fantastic. Little messy with the crab legs but excellent nonetheless.
