I’ll go ahead and call myself a self-proclaimed brisket connoisseur. I grew up eating 16–18-hour smoked brisket off my dad’s smoker and as a young kid , eating some PoSam’s in Colbert, OK, so I’ve had my share of good brisket—and I’m pretty darn picky about it. The Hangry Herd clears that bar and then some. This brisket has the kind of smoke and flavor that takes me straight back to Texas. One bite and I’m thinking about sitting at a picnic table somewhere outside Austin, with a plate of brisket, a cold drink, and smoke rolling out of the pit. The bark is right, the smoke is right, and the meat is tender without being cooked into mush. That’s good brisket, plain and simple. In my opinion, this is the best brisket I’ve had in California. The other meats are good, no doubt, but when I walk into a BBQ joint, I’m not looking for chicken or sausage—I’m hunting brisket. And if you’re hunting for that real Texas-style smoked brisket flavor, The Hangry Herd is worth the stop. This place knows how to put some smoke on a piece of beef.

The Brisket Platter was absolutely delicious. the portions of meat are pretty generous for the money and the meat was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. The Mac and cheese and baked beans were also fantastic. I also really appreciate that they include to go utensils for those of us trapped at work! I will be ordering again or stopping by in person soon!

Did not disappoint!! Got the brisket and BBQ pork platter via door dash and the portions are generous. The brisket melted in my mouth. Shot out to whoever packed my order as putting my name with a smile face was nice and I know ur busy. Great place!! I'll be back soon.

I would honestly say this is some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Though I am super fond of the brisket and pulled pork, the chicken would have to be the second best I have ever had. The flavors were amazing as well as the side dishes were perfect also. The macaroni and cheese cheese is now my favorite. I can't wait to eat the second half of my meal later on today or tomorrow. Thank you Hangry Herd! Yum...
