I ordered the catfish nuggets from Iowa Tavern on DoorDash, and they absolutely delivered on quality. The nuggets arrived hot, crispy, and perfectly golden—exactly what you hope for with fried catfish. Each piece had a light, crunchy coating that didn’t overpower the fish, and the inside was tender, flaky, and full of flavor.
The portion size was generous, making it great value for the price. The side of tartar sauce was creamy and paired perfectly with the fish, adding just the right tang without being too heavy. Even after delivery, nothing was soggy, everything held up really well, which says a lot about their preparation.
Overall, this was a top-tier comfort food experience. If you’re craving classic, well executed catfish, Iowa Tavern definitely knows what they’re doing. I’d order this again without hesitation.

The chicken sandwich was so dry. It could choke you , way overcooked Or had been sitting for way too long.  The french fries were super soggy and terrible. We've ate there in person before and the food was good but this meal was horrendous. A dried out steak sandwich was also part of our meal

The hawk tenders don't come tossed in sauce when you eat at the restaurant so why do they come sauced on here? And there's no option for no sauce. I figured it was a dipping choice. They need to update their menu and add options for ranch or bleu cheese. Can't share the tenders with my 2 year old because there's sauce on them.
