Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Koreatown, The Kunjip offers authentic Korean cuisine in a truly unique setting that dates back to mediev…
Prices are a little high for the portions, but the LA Galbi + side was tasty and the beef was really tender. One of the better galbis I've had in New York. Soon Doo Boo Jigae was disappointing though. Basically no seafood present and taste was mediocre.

Please don’t call this Korean food. As a Korean this was genuinely disappointing.
The seolleongtang tasted like straight up tap water. Even after adding a ridiculous amount of salt, it just tasted like salty water with zero richness. The meat also had such a strong smell that even my spoon smelled like it at the end. This is NOTHING like actual seolleongtang.
I ordered from here a few years ago and remembered it being bad, but I gave it another chance. Somehow it’s still just as bad. I wasn’t feeling well and just wanted some comfort food from home but this honestly made me feel worse.
I guess the $20 was for the rice and side dishes lol. It’s honestly crazy to sell such a low quality version of a dish for this much and call it authentic. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is still up and running.

Exactly what I needed for my sore throat. The Soon Doo Boo Jigae has a lot of tofu. This time it has more seafood than last time but they are still small size pieces instead of pieces of squid or large mussels or clams in the shell. Spicy but not too spicy.
The banchan is always a different collection and it's wonderful to have that come with the meal. Their kimchi is wonderful.
Packed really well tonight with no spillage at all. This remains my go to for times when I am not feeling well.

This soup is just not what I expected. Their menu photo is too misleading. Menu photos featuring a whole real shrimp and clam with shell, but all I got is small tiny shrimp ( like size of dried shrimp) and small tiny clam...this soup shouldn't cost $17. Too expensive and misleading.

It was soooo good!!
The best Kimchi Jigae I've ever had in NY. Pork was fresh and Jigae was flavorful. I highly recommend Naeng Myun for Koreans as well. Just so good !!
