This actually is IT soul food, I ordered from the same establishment (but different location) near my job and the quality wasnt as amazing as this place but they did still serve amazing sizes and was worth the price overall. Thank you again for a good meal! This particular location is 2 for 2 right now. I'll have to order in store next time ~

I honestly have been to so many soul food places in Texas and hated every single one of em because something wasn't seasoned or cooked right
This is the first time in a min I licked the plate clean I got smothered chicken green beans Mac and cheese and cabbage and while the beans were a bit on the salty side by themselves when I mixed it with the chicken it was so good and fresh didnt taste like it came from a can and great portion would absolutely order again
Have yet to try the other stuff on menu but if it taste anything as good as this I know I won't be disappointed

Oxtails, rice and gravy, corn bread, fried catfish, candied yams- all of them a solid 8 out of 10. Oxtails are tender, gravy is good, rice not over cooked but the gravy soaks in. Would have been better if gravy was on the side. Yams are really sweet but good. Cat fish corn meal batter is light and good but could have been seasoned a bit more. Cat fish was just a little overcook. Corn bread is tender and has good crumb. The collards... I wanted to love them.. I love greens... but these were so bitter I couldn't eat them. Sweet tea good but if you are looking for really sweet tea you will have to add some sugar. The grape koolaid was spot on. Portions were generous. I would order all of it again - except the greens. They are a no for me.

Ordered the fried catfish plate. Was expecting bigger pieces and more flavorful. Was average at best. Yams were amazing but cabbage and Mac and cheese were salty. Not the usual quality I expect from them
