Well. To my detriment I have never tried any Mexican places before because I read so many negative reviews.
But. I was quite surprised with what I ordered last night from Village Cantina.
I thought I'd try a bunch of different things, Mini Beef Quesadilla, Mini Burrito, Pork Belly Taco and the Jalapenos Poppers.
Crikey!
MINI? Far from it. I have never ordered anything mini that isn't teeny tiny.
The so called Mini's were way bigger than expected and I will say that everything I ordered was actually very tasty.
I know I over did it.
The Pork Belly Taco was a little dry but I enjoyed it with the red cabbage slaw and oddly it reheated today better than the night before.
Those Jalapeno Poppers were wicked as was the Mini Beef Quesadilla.
Yup, still eating and probably breakfasting on the remainders AGAIN tomorrow.
If I had one niggle it would be the fries.
It was a huge surprise to cop such a large serving.
Half serve would be better for me. But yummy 😋.
The sauces were great 👍

Had the prawn taco & fish taco, wasn't very flavoursome compared to other Mexican outlets I've been to. The burrito was huge but super sloppy, it was overloaded with cheese & sauce but again limited flavour. Was like a dogs breakfast.
My husband enjoyed the birria tacos at least so that was a plus. Our first time eating from Village Cantina honestly preferred Hencho en Mexico up the road.

Pork belly taco was very juicy and delicious. Churros were soft and fluffy on the inside. I loved everything.

Food was so fresh, presentation was awesome, they separated the meat rice and beans from the veggies so when the Burrito Bowl arrived it was just a tub of slop mixed together. Chicken was amazing, portions were perfect, highly reccomend will order again!

Pretty average for Mexican food. Tortilla on taco was both soggy yet stale.
Portion size was fine
Would not order again to be honest
Guzman and Gomez and hencho Mexican would far surpass
