The baklava was overwhelmingly sweet and it was soggy rather than crispy as it should be, I also could barely taste the nuts because all I got was super too much sugar from the syrup. The cinnamon hint felt completely out of place as well. I also tried the chocolate cake on a previous order and didn’t enjoy that either.
Howeverrrr everything savory I’ve tried here has been outstanding beyond yummy!!! The spicy cheese is addictive and pairs perfectly with the olive bread. The spinach pastry was light, crispy, and filled with super fresh ingredients, and the hummus was so balanced, and I am like finally a restaurant in Houston that makes hummus without drowning it in garlic, you can enjoyyy tasting the chickpeas! So far, every savory item I’ve had has been incredibly satisfying!

The filling-overall is yummmm and unique and the portion size is just right without feeling too heavy. I just wish they used a softer type of grape leaves, this is ok but kindaa dry...there is much better ones. however I would order it again and again :D

Not up to Yiayia’s usual standard to be honest. The meat was dry on the outside not charred it's very dry—but underneath it was tender & I also appreciate that they don’t overdo the spices you can actually taste the food. The potatoes were quite hard- kind of undercooked rather than soft. I really didn’t enjoy this order much...
That said, we’ve really missed this restaurant on DoorDash over the past few days and I’ll definitely keep ordering from them!!!! There’s just something so special about Yiayia’s that keeps you coming back even when you don’t love a meal!

Pastisio you must try it with ketchup and Louisiana hot sauce! That mix takes it to another level!! SO Good!
The portion is quite generous. It’s rich, comforting, and delicious. Anyone who grew up eating bechamel pasta in the Arab world will definitely appreciate it.
